Tunisia
My friend and I traveled to Hammamet, Douz, Sidi Bou Said, Tozeur, Chott El Jerid, El Djem, and Sousse in August 2019. From radiant deserts to wild oceans, the scenery in Tunisia is breathtaking. Because there were so few tourists and we stayed in cozy airbnb’s in local neighborhoods, we could dive into the culture and build lasting relationships. The people are absolutely incredible (and very patient with our insanely elementary Tunisian Arabic). We were shown amazing hospitality and love unlike anywhere we had ever seen. Not only are the people extremely kind and generous, but they are very diverse and accepting of all walks of life. Although the people and culture were our favorite part of Tunisia, there is no shortage of things to see and do in this wonderful country.
