day • dream
noun:
inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night," this series aims to captivate the pleasant and unpleasant mindset we often spiral into––daydreaming. fantasy is a silky, golden hue which inspires our thoughts to take one way ticket train rides into the past and spaceships into the future, rarely surrendering to the present moment. to be anywhere but here, we blink and miss the present and our mystic, deep blue imaginations lead us to regret, nostalgia, and grave anticipation. distracted thinking shakes our grounding and fools us into floating; purpose is an allusion, and the present is selfish for wasting too much of our precious time. we're a kind who loves story telling yet refuses to live our own---constantly, life grabs us by the hand and pulls us in every direction screaming "this is important, this is important," but reader, we must yank our hands away and place it to our hearts, turn toward life boldly and respond, "NO, this (my heart) is important." may we, in effort to be present, tune our hearts to be mindful and practice intentional thinking. may we smile at strangers and create when our hearts ache for creation--and may we always bask in our freedom to be endlessly expressive and shiver with passion; there's no need to escape.
